Everyone's talking about the food prices at Toronto's biggest holiday market - and not in a good way. Here's the deal:
THE EXPENSIVE STUFF:
$20 for a "Yorkshire Burrito" (roast dinner wrapped in Yorkshire pudding)
$10 for the "viral" s'mores hot chocolate from Cluny
$20 for 8 pierogies
$18 for raclette (melted cheese on potatoes)
$9 for a dozen mini donuts
WHY SO EXPENSIVE? Vendors are paying between $12,000-$15,000 just to run a booth for 6 weeks. They need to charge these prices just to break even.
