PACHO'S EL CURADERO 🌮
Pacho’s El Curadero is a cozy, family-owned Mexican eatery at Eglinton and Bathurst, serving up large portions of flavourful dishes that transport you straight to Mexico. Originally launched as Amanecer Latino, the restaurant rebranded to Pacho’s in late 2024 and has become a neighbourhood favourite.
The Spot:
📍 852 Eglinton Avenue West, Toronto
This small, intimate space is brightened by colourful flags and rhinestone-encrusted sombreros hanging from the walls, giving it a festive, welcoming feel. Though not usually packed, the restaurant has loyal regulars who return for the bold flavours and generous portions.
The Menu:
Mains:
Quesabirria – The star of the menu! Four double-layered beef tacos with gratinated cheese and beef broth. Crunchy, cheesy, and perfect for dipping.
Enchiladas – Four tortillas stuffed with chicken, cheese, and sour cream, topped with red or green salsa. Served with fried bananas and black bean dip.
Arrachera Tacos – Grilled steak with shredded lettuce, cilantro, onions, and lime.
Starters:
Empanadas – Choose beef, chicken, or cheese, topped with lettuce, sour cream, and cheese.
Endless Nachos – Complimentary with every meal. Perfect for dipping into salsa or birria broth.
Drinks:
Horchata – A creamy, cinnamon-sweet rice drink.
Jamaica – Refreshing hibiscus tea with a tart, floral kick.
The Damage: Generous portions come with reasonable price tags. Most mains hover between $20–30, and the value is undeniable with the size of the dishes and the complimentary nachos to start.
What’s the Vibe? Think relaxed and vibrant – a place where family recipes meet friendly service. With music playing in the background and the warm aroma of freshly made tacos in the air, it feels more like visiting a family kitchen than a formal restaurant. Perfect for a casual dinner with friends or a laid-back brunch with authentic Mexican flair.
The Reality Check: The quesabirria tacos are the undeniable crowd-pleasers, drawing praise on Instagram and TikTok. The staff is warm and friendly, but some people mention occasional long waits during busy hours.
Worth It? Absolutely! Whether you’re craving the famous quesabirria tacos or just want a taste of authentic Mexican cuisine, Pacho’s delivers (literally and figuratively). Bring your appetite, embrace the messy deliciousness, and pair it with a horchata or Jamaica for the full experience.
